The Desire to Live and Work Anywhere
It all began with a study abroad experience in the USA back in 2014.
Living in Los Angeles, CA for 6 months and occasionally travelling around the country, Chris discovered a sense of adventure that was hard to shake.
But there was a big problem...
He was studying a degree in accounting and heading towards a corporate career that he had no interest in.
Of course, he could have quit everything and just have gone travelling but then what about his career?
Seeking a different direction, he signed up to a coworking space and started to learning to code in-between studying for his final year at university.
That's when he discovered a term that would change everything...

Keen on getting started, Chris rushed into becoming a digital nomad without figuring out his niche.
He spent the first few years of travel trying different paths and breaking even.
But in 2019, he got his first developer job working specifically with Shopify websites
Chris always had an interest in Shopify but back in 2019, resources for learning Shopify were severely limited so he took a job to upskill.
Finding the Shopify niche changed everything...
Chris was finally able to market himself to a growing market of Shopify sellers as an expert in his field.
Rather than being a jack of all trades, master of none, he instead continued to build his skills and knowledge in this one particular area of web development.
Passing on the info
Witnessing first-hand the gap in Shopify development courses and tutorials out there, Chris set out to 'fill the gap' and produce a wide range of content on the subject of Shopify Theme Development.
While working his first Shopify job, Chris began sharing his understanding of Shopify themes on Youtube and made it the primary focus of his Skillshare channel.
Years later, he's kept up to date with the latest changes from Shopify, educating thousands of followers along the way.
